Place Matters: Blindfolded Clay Workshop

1 min read

Public Workshop
Saturday 17th of June
2pm – 4pm

Learn to connect to place through clay this Saturday at the Place Matters workshop led by artist Catherine McDonald, as part of the current exhibition Horizon | Ag Bun na Spéire.

This 2-hour workshop offers an alternative way of experiencing the spaces of Kilkenny, through activities based on touch and texture. Participants will use blindfolds while making clay objects, and will learn the principles of clay moulding without the pressure of creating a
figurative piece.

Catherine will guide the class through the blindfolded clay-making process in a creative and relaxed atmosphere. Blindfolds and clay will be provided for each participant. This workshop is open to everyone – no previous knowledge or experience with art practice is required. Tea and biscuits will be provided with the opportunity to discuss the workshop and chat with other participants.
