Theatre Forum’s The Gathering Bursary

Theatre Forum is delighted to be partnering with Kilkenny County Council Arts Office to offer a bursary for a theatre / performing arts practitioner based in Kilkenny to attend the Theatre Forum Gathering in Sligo on 28th and 29th May 2024.

Gathering Sligo

The Gathering is a landmark event in the performing arts 2024 calendar. The event will take place in Sligo on 28 & 29 May and Theatre Forum have linked up with the Hawk’s Well, the Model and Cairde Festival to create an inspiring two days in what will be a landmark event for the performing arts community.

Approximately 250 – 300 practitioners will attend for two days of conversation, provocation, and inspiration. The audience is a mix of organisations (arts centres, festivals, production companies, funders etc) and independent artists and arts workers.

Successful applicants will be able to access the entire event. The sessions are a mix of inspirational and practical and the event will provide significant networking opportunities.

Coffee breaks, lunches, dinner, artistic programme and sessions are included in the ticket.

The event takes place from approx. lunch time on 28 May to a late lunch on 29 May.

Deadline to apply: Monday 25th March 4pm

The value of the Bursary is €400 and this covers:

  • €100 – Ticket price includes all day sessions, two lunches, dinner, coffee breaks and the artistic programme
  • €150 – Artist Honorarium
  • €150 – Accommodation and travel contribution
  • Accommodation and Travel needs to be arranged by the artist

Applicants must be living in the Kilkenny area and provide an Eircode.

  • Both Theatre Forum members and Non-members can apply
  • Incomplete or late applications will not be considered
  • Applicants seeking the Theatre Forum Gathering Bursary must currently be based in Kilkenny and must provide their Eircode.
  • Awardee must credit Kilkenny County Council in all publicity, online, in print, radio or TV
  • The bursary amount is €400 and will be paid out to the successful recipient prior to booking. The recipient must furnish the Arts Office with a receipt of ticket purchase and hotel.
