Kilkenny Arts Office is delighted to announce another series of online meetings aimed at artists and other creatives in Kilkenny to explore ideas around dealing with the ongoing Covid19 restrictions, which are having a major impact on artists. Exploring various themes on consecutive Wednesdays, they will be informal but led by experienced practitioners who can support and guide you through these difficult times.
The sessions will run each Wednesday at 10am from 14th April to 26th May

- Limited to 20 participants maximum each week to enable participants to gain the most from them
- 60-90mins duration
- for Kilkenny based practitioners, we will hold waiting lists if demand exceeds capacity

Achieving Success in Funding Applications – Facilitated by Rowena Neville, Blue Line Consulting, Mary Butler, Arts Officer, Siobhan Armstrong The Historic Harp Society and visual Artist Pauline O’ Connell
As funding applications and decision processes become more robust and directional, not to mention competitive, this upcoming webinar hosted by Kilkenny County Council Arts Office will be a vital opportunity to understand what you need to know to write effective and successful applications and garner tips and hints from those who oversee those processes. Please ensure you, or someone from your creative team, can attend.
This session will cover:
- Thinking outside the box for achieving success
- Researching a potential funder and understanding how to position and pitch your work to deliver on their ambitions
- Setting a critical path to ensure you meet funding deadlines while keeping stress levels down
- Developing a compelling mission and vision for your work/project, and making a case for support for readers who don’t know your work
- Planning for measuring and evaluating success and describing impact
- Establishing and describing a realistic Budget and ensuring all parties are paid as per national guidelines
- Honing and editing your support materials to show your past work to best advantage without swamping the reader with irrelevant or repetitive content
- Finding key supports to help you write the best possible application – who you need on your team to get success
All Artists, Community Groups or Collectives intending to apply for Kilkenny County Council Arts Act Grants, Creative Ireland Funds, ArtLinks Funding, Residencies or Bursaries, are required to attend this session to be eligible for consideration.
