The Your Voice Matters Coaching & Creative Process Programme is a flagship development initiative from Kilkenny County Council Arts Office, designed to support and strengthen the county’s writing community. Delivered in partnership with writer, mentor and coach Anne Tannam, this intensive nine-month programme offers a unique opportunity for committed writers to deepen their practice within a structured, supportive environment. Open to a small cohort of writers working in any genre, the programme combines mentoring, coaching and workshopping to guide participants from initial ideas through to completed work. It places equal emphasis on creative process and final output, helping writers to develop confidence, discipline and sustainable writing habits.
Participants benefit from a blend of online and in-person sessions, regular feedback on work-in-progress, and the opportunity to engage with a network of like-minded peers. A key outcome of the programme is the preparation and presentation of work to a public audience, supporting writers to take the next step in their creative careers. By investing in both the individual writer and the wider literary community, Your Voice Matters fosters collaboration, ambition and excellence, ensuring that Kilkenny continues to be a vibrant and supportive place for writers to thrive.
