Kilkenny County Council’s Arts Office is offering a one-week fully funded residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Annaghmakerrig, Co. Monaghan, specifically for artists who have never previously attended a residency there. This bursary is designed to give first-time applicants the opportunity to experience the unique environment of the Guthrie Centre, providing dedicated time and space to focus on your creative work, away from everyday distractions.

Who Can Apply?

  • Artists working in any art form (visual arts, literature, music, theatre, film, etc.)
  • Must be based in Kilkenny for at least 2 years
  • Must be over 18 years old
  • Never previously attended a residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre

Residency Details

  • Location: Tyrone Guthrie Centre
  • Duration: One week (dates to be arranged within 2026)
  • Includes: Accommodation, meals, and a private studio space

This bursary removes financial barriers and everyday errands and is ideal for artists in need of time and space to develop their practice.

How to Apply – Send ONE PDF including images and all supporting material (max 10MB)  containing:

  1. Completed Application Form (see below)
  2. Up-to-date CV
  3. Supporting Material (choose what best represents your work):
    • Up to 5 images (good quality)
    • OR 1 text sample (max 3 pages)
    • OR 2 video/audio links (max 3 mins each, via YouTube/Vimeo/Spotify)

Important:

  • All links must work and be easy to access
  • Applications larger than 10MB will be rejected
