Transform Your Creative Work through Ecoliteracy for Thriving, Just Futures: A Half-Day Learning Session

Workshop for Artists, Arts Educators & Community Art Facilitators

Facilitated by eco-poet and environmental writer Grace Wells with Dr Cathy Fitzgerald

Join us on November 4th for this half day session were Dr Cathy Fitzgerald will introduce holistic ecological literacy (ecoliteracy)—a vital framework for creative practitioners navigating today’s complex environmental and societal challenges. Drawing from her work in habitat restoration, rewilding, doctoral eco-arts research, and pioneering ecoliteracy education since 2019, Cathy will show how developing eco-ethical awareness through holistic, transformative learning brings clarity, confidence, and renewed purpose to creative work.

She will also introduce Haumea Ecoversity—a pioneering peer-to-peer ecoliteracy learning platform that supports creatives and cultural professionals to connect, collaborate, and lead the cultural shift toward a more beautiful, just, and life-sustaining world. Grace Wells will offer “Learnings from a Life in Eco-Arts,” sharing insights from her rich journey in art and ecology. Her presentation will open space for honest dialogue on the challenges, rewards, and deeper meaning of working creatively for ecological and social renewal.

This session invites reflection, connection, and action—building common ground for inclusive, eco-creative practices and community engagement for system change.
