Recipient of The Age & Opportunity Tyrone Guthrie Centre Residency Award

The Age & Opportunity Tyrone Guthrie Centre Residency Award, in partnership with the Kilkenny County Council Arts Office, aims to support professional artists aged 50 and above in developing their practice. The residency creates time and space for them to think and reflect on their work. This award was a collaboration between the Kilkenny County Council Arts Office and Age & Opportunity, in association with the Tyrone Guthrie Centre. This opportunity provides one successful artist with a unique environment to focus on their creative practice.

This year, artist Caroline Schofield was successful in receiving the funded week-long residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, which included a small stipend.

On receiving the award Caroline says:

I am delighted to have been awarded an Age and Opportunity Bursary.

This quality time will be used to research ‘working on water in my kayak’ using the lake & environment of Tyrone Guthrie.
