Script Development Workshops with Caitríona Daly

Are you a Kilkenny-based playwright or theatre-maker looking to elevate your work? Kilkenny Arts Office, in partnership with the Irish Theatre Institute (ITI), is pleased to announce a new script development workshop series led by multi-award-winning playwright Caitríona Daly.
About Caitríona Daly
Caitríona Daly’s acclaimed plays, including Duck Duck Goose and Normal, are celebrated for their sharp social commentary and emotional impact. She has extensive experience mentoring emerging voices, having founded the playwriting group One Giant Leap and lectured in script development. In this workshop series, Caitríona will focus on character creation, narrative structure, and honing the dramatic arc of your script. Participants will also benefit from peer feedback, practical writing exercises, and guidance on articulating creative intentions with clarity and confidence.

- Dates: Mondays on 10th March, 24th March, 31st March, 7th April, and 14th April.
- Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Venue: St. Canice’s Neighbourhood Hall – Butts Green, Gardens, Kilkenny, R95 VK7X
- Fee: €100
How to Apply
- Complete the online application form.
- Submit a short sample of your writing (e.g., a scene or excerpt from a script).

Thursday February 13th at 1pm
Capacity
A maximum of 10 places are available.
Selection Criteria
- Applicants must be based in Kilkenny.
- Demonstrated interest in theatre or playwriting (via the writing sample).
- Willingness to attend all five sessions.
- Applications will be considered in the order they are received, with final review by the facilitator to ensure a balanced range of experience within the group.
