We’ve had the pleasure of welcoming Leah Corbett for a residency at the Tea Houses throughout the month of October.
Leah Corbett is an artist, curator, collaborator and facilitator based in Carlow. Her practice explores the collective (re-)production of public space through site-specific projects, workshops and exhibition making. She works with artists, community groups and young people to realise projects which invite and support ways of being together. She is the Co-founder of artist-run organisation Muine Bheag Arts in Carlow and a former Co-director of Catalyst Arts in Belfast.
During her residency at the Tea Houses, Leah has been continuing her work on public libraries. In particular she has been researching the 66 libraries built throughout Ireland in the early 1900s with donations received from Andrew Carnegie, including the former Carnegie Library at John’s Quay in Kilkenny. This follows on from ‘Problems of To-day’, a series of work which was exhibited in CCA Derry as part of URGENCIES (2025) earlier this year.
