Jade is an Irish artist whose painting practice examines how individuals navigate identity within contemporary social and cultural contexts, engaging with questions of representation, belonging and lived experience.
Jade is a regular exhibitor at annual exhibitions of the Royal Hibernian Academy, Royal Ulster Academy, Royal Scottish Academy, Society of Women Artists, and more. She has exhibited widely in Ireland and the UK and her work is included in the collection of The Office of Public Works.
Jade is a recipient of the ArtLinks Bursary Award 2026 and Creative Ireland, Creative Communities Award 2026. In 2025 Jade was awarded a place by the RHA on the ART MFA Residency program at University of Notre Dame, Kylemore. Jade serves as a member of the Artist Panel at the Butler Gallery.
Currently Jade is developing a series of paintings that examine how cultural identity is formed and negotiated within contemporary Ireland, focusing on people who have come to Ireland as asylum seekers. The research centres on individuals navigating layered identities shaped by displacement, inherited heritage and the process of establishing a life in a new context. It considers how these identities are articulated, how they are carried and how they contribute to a broader understanding of contemporary Irish society.
The project is developed in official partnership with the Irish Refugee Council, whose involvement supports participant identification and ensures responsible and accurate engagement.
Each painting depicts the sitter alongside a companion still life or incorporates the chosen object directly into the portrait. These objects hold cultural, emotional or historical significance and contribute to a visual language that reflects identity formed across cultures and through lived experience.
