The Kilkenny County Council Arts Office is now inviting applications for funding to support events taking place in Kilkenny as part of Culture Night 2026, which will be held on Friday 18 September from 4pm until late.
Culture Night is a nationwide public event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts by offering free access to special events, performances, workshops and exhibitions across the country. In Kilkenny, Culture Night continues to grow as an important opportunity to support artists, engage local communities and contribute to the city’s night‑time economy.
We welcome applications from artists, arts and cultural organisations, community and voluntary groups, venues and individuals who wish to programme cultural events in Kilkenny for Culture Night 2026. Proposals should reflect the ethos of Culture Night, with a focus on:
- Audience engagement and participation
- Inclusivity and accessibility
- Supporting artists and paying artist fees
- Encouraging people to experience culture locally
- Developing vibrant and welcoming evening and late‑night events
All events must be free to the public and take place between 4pm and late on Friday 18 September 2026.
Funding is limited and it may not be possible to offer funding to all applicants, or the full amount requested. However, all eligible applicants may be included in the Culture Night programme, regardless of whether funding is awarded.

Completed application forms, along with any required supporting documentation, must be submitted by 4pm on Wednesday 20 May 2026.
