Kilkenny’s First Collective Community Embroidery

A beautiful hand-stitched piece featuring motifs inspired by textile mending, making, and the natural world. Created over several months by a diverse group of community members, the project was guided and enriched by the expertise of local artists and makers Ber Roberts, Sheila Jordan, Sandra McAllister, and Ailis Feehan helping individual contributions to become a cohesive and vibrant whole. More than 70 hours of collective effort and over 245 pairs of hands brought this piece to life – A vibrant testament to the spirit of collaboration and creativity. Each stitch tells a story—of patience, creativity, and unity—woven together by the community. Initiated and produced by Kilkenny Arts Office all are welcome to visit this piece which will be on display in the window of the old Meubles Building, 76 Johns Street, Kilkenny for the month of September.

On display at 76 Johns Street, Kilkenny,  R95 V992 till September 30th
