Bookville is Kilkenny’s vibrant book festival for children & families! Organised in partnership with Kilkenny Library Service and the Kilkenny Arts Office, the festival brings together the many creative elements that make storytelling so magical, from writing and illustration to animation, music, and comedy. Bookville offers a rich and engaging programme that includes in-person and online workshops, a specially created Bookville publication, an exhibition, and a lively family show. Showcasing some of Ireland’s leading contemporary children’s authors, illustrators, and performers, the festival is designed to inspire creativity and foster a love of reading in audiences of all ages. The programme features a wide variety of activities, including creative writing sessions, illustration workshops, Gaeilge events, music, storytelling, and poetry with both a schools and public programme of events.
