Irish Theatre Institute has announced the artists selected for Six in the Attic and Virtual Attic 2026. Thirteen theatre makers from across Ireland will take part in this year-long development programme, which offers dedicated space to explore, experiment, collaborate, and connect — both in person and online.

Among the selected artists is Kilkenny-based playwright and facilitator Hannah Carberry, whose work centres on themes of community, loss, and the complexities of human relationships, often drawing on Irish dialect and humour. Earlier this year, she produced her debut play Grasp at GOMA Gallery of Modern Art in Waterford, followed by a rehearsed reading of her second play, How Is Everyone Doing?, at the Imagine Arts Festival in October. Since 2021, she has delivered creative writing workshops to children and young people with Waterford Youth Arts, as well as to schools and community groups. Hannah is thrilled to be part of this year’s programme.

Kilkenny Arts Office is proud to be a strategic local authority partner in support of Hannah Carberry’s participation.
